Fjordhold — Privacy Policy

Dernière mise à jour: 23 October 2026

This policy is currently available in English only. A translation will follow after a native-speaker review.

Who we are

Fjordhold is a wave defense game made by Hopvera. This policy explains what the app does with information. It applies to the Fjordhold mobile app. The Hopvera website has its own privacy policy.

Hopvera is a brand of Software-Solutions Paweł Lewandowski, 93c, 33-200 Oleśnica, Poland (NIP 8711772480, REGON 365828827). It is the controller of personal data for Fjordhold under the GDPR.

The short version

Fjordhold has no Hopvera account. It does not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos or precise location. The game is free to play. It shows advertising through Google AdMob, only when you choose to watch an ad for a reward. Nothing in it is sold for money. Leaderboards, achievements and cloud save use Google Play Games on Android and Game Center on iOS. You can play a battle without a connection. Ads, leaderboards and cloud save need one. You choose how ads use your data with Ad privacy choices in Settings and with your device settings.

What stays on your device

The app saves the following on your device, so you can pick up where you stopped:

  • the current run: the wave, the gate's health, the blessings you picked and the seed of the run
  • your progress: saga stars, heroes, the village's buildings, silver and what they have unlocked
  • your settings, including sound and ad privacy choices
  • scores waiting to be posted, until the phone is online again

Uninstalling the app deletes what is stored only on the device. A cloud save, if you use one, is held by Google Play Games or Game Center under their own policies.

Advertising

Fjordhold shows ads through Google AdMob.

  • Every ad is a rewarded ad, and it is always your choice: revive once in a run (never in the Blood Moon daily challenge), double the run's silver, reroll blessings, free silver once a day in the shop, or double village production when you collect.
  • No ad plays on its own: not between runs, not during a battle. Silver is never sold.
  • Ads are labeled as ads.
  • Google may collect and use the device's advertising ID, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and information about the ads shown and how you interacted with them, to deliver, measure and prevent fraud in advertising. The AdMob SDK also reports app interactions and diagnostics, as Google documents for that SDK. Where you agree, ads may be matched to your interests. Otherwise they are not personalised.
  • In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before Google and its advertising partners store or read information on your device or use data for personalised ads.
  • In US states with privacy laws, such as California, using data from the app for interest-based ads can count as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. You can opt out at any time. Google then restricts how it uses data from this app for advertising.
  • Where your region has these choices, Settings shows "Ad privacy choices", where you can change them at any time. On iOS the app asks through Apple's tracking prompt before the first ad request. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your device settings.
  • The game is not directed at children under 13 and will not show personalised ads to anyone we know is a child.

Google's own policy describes what AdMob does: Google's privacy policy.

Leaderboards, achievements and cloud save

Endless waves and the Blood Moon daily challenge post your best score to a leaderboard, and achievements unlock as you play. They use Google Play Games on Android and Game Center on iOS. Those are Google and Apple accounts, not a Hopvera account.

  • On Android the game signs in automatically with the Google Play Games profile on your phone, if you have one. Without one, the game still works, and scores wait on the device.
  • Leaderboards show your Play Games or Game Center name and picture next to your score, to other players as your profile settings allow.
  • The cloud save is a copy of your game progress, the same data the app keeps on your device. It is stored in your Google Play Games or Game Center account so you can continue on another phone.
  • Google and Apple handle sign-in, scores, achievements and cloud saves under their own privacy policies. Android and iOS boards are separate. If you are offline, the score waits on your device and is sent when you are back online.

Network

Playing a battle does not need an internet connection, and the game does not connect to a Hopvera server to play.

The optional More games screen, opened from the menu, asks hopvera.com for the list of Hopvera games and downloads their icons. The request carries your language setting, the kind of phone store (Google Play or the App Store) and the name of this game, so the list leaves it out. Like any web request it also reaches our web host with your IP address, which the host keeps in its standard server logs for a short time for security and is not used to identify you. No identifier, account or game data is sent, and nothing is stored about you. Icons are kept on your device so the screen opens faster next time. Tapping a game opens its page in Google Play or the App Store, whose own privacy policies then apply.

Other network use is advertising, leaderboards, achievements and cloud save, as described above.

Third parties

Hopvera does not sell your data, and apart from the More games request above, the app sends nothing to Hopvera. The "sale" and "sharing" that some US state laws describe concern advertising; see Advertising for how to opt out.

  • Google (AdMob, including consent, and Google Play Games) provides advertising, leaderboards, achievements and cloud save on Android. Google acts as its own provider for advertising and for Play Games, under Google's privacy policy.
  • Apple (Game Center, App Tracking Transparency, and the App Store) provides the same kind of platform services on iOS, under Apple's privacy policy.
  • Unity Technologies makes the game engine. Unity's analytics, crash reporting and performance reporting services are turned off in Fjordhold.
  • Google Play and the App Store, as the stores you install from, have their own privacy policies. They may collect install and crash statistics through the store. That is outside the app.

Legal bases

Where the GDPR or the UK GDPR applies:

  • Personalised ads, and advertising partners storing or reading information on your device: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time in Ad privacy choices.
  • Non-personalised ads, ad measurement and fraud prevention: our legitimate interest in keeping the game free through ads.
  • Leaderboards, achievements and cloud save: providing the features you use.
  • The More games request: our legitimate interest in showing our other games when you open that screen.

How long data is kept

  • On your device: until you uninstall the app or clear its data. A waiting score is deleted once it is posted, or when its day or week is over.
  • Scores, achievements and cloud saves: in your Google Play Games or Game Center account until you delete them there.
  • Advertising data: as Google's privacy policy describes.
  • Web server logs from the More games request: a short time, as set by our web host.

International transfers

Google and Apple may process data outside your country. Where the law requires it, we rely on recognised safeguards such as the EU standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict data about you, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. In US states with privacy laws you may also opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising. For advertising data, use Ad privacy choices in the app, the controls on your device and Google's own privacy settings. For Play Games or Game Center data, use the controls in that Google or Apple account. Hopvera holds no account or game data about you, but you can always email contact@hopvera.com. You may also complain to your local data protection authority; in Poland that is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).

Children

Fjordhold is not directed at children under 13. It does not ask anyone for a name, email address or photo. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If a future version changes any of this, we will update this page and the store listing before that version ships, and change the date at the top. English is the source text; translations, when available, follow it.
