Solitaire — Privacy Policy

Who we are
Solitaire is a card game made by Hopvera. This policy explains what the app does with information. It applies to the Solitaire mobile app. The Hopvera website has its own privacy policy.
Contact: contact@hopvera.com.
The short version
Solitaire has no account. It does not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, photos or anything that identifies you. Version 1.0 is free and contains no ads, no in-app purchases and no analytics. Like most mobile games, Hopvera games may later collect basic, anonymous analytics and may later include advertising and optional purchases, as described below. Before any version adds them, we update this page and the store listing.
What stays on your device
The app saves the following on your device only, so you can pick up where you stopped:
- your current deal and undo history
- the days you cleared on the calendar
- your settings (sound, haptics, reduce motion, draw one or three, true shuffle, reminder)
Hopvera cannot see this data. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
Analytics
When a version of Solitaire includes analytics, this section will name that version and the service provider, and the store listing will say so before the update ships. Version 1.0 collects no analytics.
Basic analytics means this and nothing more:
- Usage: that the app was opened, how long a session lasted, and game events such as a deal started, a deal cleared, the draw mode chosen, and whether undo and the calendar are used. Counts and settings only. Never the cards in your hand or your moves.
- Device and app: app version, operating system version, device model, screen size, language and region setting, and an approximate country derived from your IP address. The IP address itself is not stored with the events.
- Diagnostics: crash reports and error logs, so we can fix problems.
- A random identifier generated by the app for analytics. It is not your advertising ID, is not linked to your name or account, and cannot be used to recognise you in other apps. Resetting it or reinstalling the app creates a new one.
What analytics do not do: they do not collect or use the advertising ID, do not track you across other apps or websites, do not build profiles, do not sell data, and are not used to make decisions that affect you individually. (Advertising, if a version includes it, is covered separately below and works differently.)
Data is sent over an encrypted connection to a service provider that processes it on Hopvera's behalf and may not use it for its own purposes. We keep analytics data for up to 14 months, then delete or fully aggregate it.
Your choice. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app asks before it sends any analytics and does nothing until you agree. In all regions you can turn analytics on or off at any time in Settings. Turning it off stops all further analytics. To ask us to delete the data linked to your analytics identifier, email contact@hopvera.com with the app version and the identifier shown in Settings.
Where the law requires a legal basis, analytics rely on your consent. Crash and error diagnostics that are needed to keep the game working rely on our legitimate interest in a stable game, and you can still turn them off.
Advertising and purchases
Version 1.0 contains no advertising and no in-app purchases. Hopvera plans to add advertising and optional in-app purchases to later versions. When a version does, this section will say which one, name the advertising partners, and the store listing will show it before the update ships. So that you know what to expect:
- Ads are labeled as ads. Watching a rewarded ad is always your choice.
- Advertising partners may collect and use the device's advertising ID, your approximate location (derived from your IP address), and information about the ads shown and how you interacted with them, to deliver, measure and prevent fraud in advertising. Where you agree, they may use it to show ads matched to your interests. Otherwise ads are not personalised.
- In the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before advertising partners collect data for personalised ads, and lets you change your choice in Settings. On iOS the app asks through Apple's tracking prompt. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your device settings.
- Purchases are handled by Google Play or the App Store. Hopvera does not see your payment details. We receive confirmation that a purchase happened and its item. Purchases never take away features that were free.
- The game is not aimed at children under 13 and will not show personalised ads to anyone we know is a child.
Network
Solitaire works offline. Playing a deal does not need an internet connection and the game does not connect to Hopvera servers to play. Network use is limited to analytics and advertising, in a version that includes them, and you can choose what is allowed as described above.
Notifications
The daily reminder is off by default. If you turn it on, the app asks your device for permission to show a notification and schedules it on your device at the time slot you choose. The reminder is created locally. Nothing is sent to us. You can turn it off in Settings or in your device settings at any time.
Sharing
After you clear a daily deal, a Share button can open your device's share sheet with a short message (the date and hopvera.com). You choose whether and where to send it. The message contains no move counts, no layout and no personal data. If your device has no share sheet, the text is copied to the clipboard.
Third parties
Version 1.0 contains no advertising or analytics services. When a version includes analytics, the provider is named in the Analytics section above, acts only on Hopvera's instructions, and does not receive your name or email address. When a version includes advertising, the advertising partners are named in the Advertising and purchases section and act as independent providers of their own service under their own privacy policies. Google Play and the App Store, as the stores you install from, have their own privacy policies. They may collect install and crash statistics through the store. That is outside the app.
International transfers
Analytics and advertising providers may process data outside your country. Where the law requires it, we rely on recognised safeguards such as the EU standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict data about you, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because analytics data is anonymous and linked only to a random identifier, we can act on a request about it only when you give us that identifier (it is shown in Settings). For advertising data, use the controls in the app and on your device, and the partners’ own privacy settings. Email contact@hopvera.com. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Solitaire is a general audience card game and is not directed at children under 13. It does not ask for personal information from anyone. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If a future version changes any of this, we will update this page and the store listing before that version ships, and change the date at the top. English is the source text; translations, when available, follow it.
